Where headlines become a real skill

Mopel Karsut started as a single webinar for journalists who wanted honest feedback on their writing. Today it's a live learning space connecting students across Ukraine — no geography required, no pretense.

What actually got us started

2021 Year founded

A small group of working journalists and editors noticed the same gap again and again — plenty of theory about news writing, but almost no space to practice headline craft with real feedback from people who do it for a living. They ran one experimental live session. Forty-something students attended from eight different cities. Nobody wanted it to stop. So it didn't. The format grew into structured courses, regular live broadcasts, and an open chat where questions get actual answers. What kept it honest was the decision never to promise anything that practice alone can't deliver.

How we think about learning

These aren't mission statement words. They're the decisions we make when planning every session and responding to every question in the chat.

Feedback over theory

Every session includes real critique of real writing. We look at actual headlines, talk about why they work or why they miss, and do that live — not in a pre-recorded vacuum.

Geography shouldn't limit access

A student in a small town near Chernihiv should have the same access to quality instruction as someone in Kyiv. That's not a nice idea — it's what we actually built the platform to do.

Instructors who still report

The people teaching here aren't retired from the field. They write headlines, pitch stories, and deal with editors right now. That keeps what they teach grounded in how newsrooms actually function today.
